#FLINTFWD

I have been directing and producing series of ads focusing on the grass roots collaborative of Flint residents for the #FLINTFWD initiative.  It has been really exciting and refreshing to get to know my city again.  The people of Flint are resilient and are not going to let this water crisis beat them down.  Last week we were imbedded with the Red Cross on several water distribution efforts, Catholic Charities, and several small church groups.  The people of Flint have really united under this man made tragedy.

A young Red Cross volunteer carries cases of water door to door for Flint residents.

This weeks work...

Theres nothing like the real thing but when you work in the ice box we call home, sometimes you have to make substitutions.  This week was cheating baseball, football, rodeos, and rock climbing in the studio.  Thank god all the shots were tights and macros...  I forced my self to step outside of my comfort zone and shoot something other than Red...  I recently purchased a new Sony.  And up until now, I didn't like the images Sony's sensors made.  Always seemed harsh and video-ish to me.  These images are different.  The cameras 14 stops of DR and smooth skin tones are really looking good!  Almost Alexa-like to me.
